Exploring Freelancing

Navigate freelancing as a developer; find clients, manage contracts, ensure timely payment, and learn from experiences!

After an amazing iOS Dev Happy Hour this Saturday, I thought of attending more meetups related to Apple Platforms development. And you know what’s better? Curating the meetups so that you can attend them too!

Vancouver Xcoders

It is a speaker series focused on building great apps for iOS and Mac using Swift and other tools. You can expect at least two speakers at each event, with common topics including Swift, frameworks, lessons learned, and iOS and Mac app development stories.

The next online edition is on January 28th, and I am excited to attend!

Core Coffee (a catch-up for iOS and macOS developers)

A morning meetup to catch up to talk about iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and everything in between. The focus of the meetup is to chat about the platforms and technologies that you use and work on every day, apps you are currently working on, and potential issues you are running into.

The next online edition is on January 31st, and even though it will be midnight in my timezone, I will still try to attend!

Sydney CocoaHeads (iOS & Mac dev)

CocoaHeads is a group devoted to discussing Apple Computer’s Cocoa and CocoaTouch Frameworks, Objective-C, and Swift programming, for iOS and macOS. During monthly meetings, members present their projects and offer tutorials on various programming topics.

Sydney CocoaHeads Monthly Meetup is happening online next month on the 17th, so don’t miss out!

Singapore iOS Dev Scout Meetup

iOS Dev Scout is for all developers and enthusiasts who have been creating iOS apps and anyone who has a passion for diving into native iOS app development. It aims to engage interaction and sharing between fellow developers through monthly meetups and workshops, provide them with career opportunities, and help them collaborate.

The Munich iOS Developers Meetup

This group is about learning and sharing iOS experiences. You can use this group to learn tricks, network with other iOS developers, share your experiences and see interesting presentations or demos.

Swift Lighting Talks is happening online on the 17th in February!

CocoaHeadsNL

It is a monthly meeting of iOS and Mac developers in the Netherlands and part of the international CocoaHeads meetups. They discuss anything Apple, Cocoa, Objective-C, and Swift.

While I missed the meetup that happened a week ago, keep note of the next one!

Philly CocoaHeads

The Philadelphia area Mac and iOS programming group is the chapter of the worldwide CocoaHeads organization. Their mission is to help local developers learn and master Apple developer technologies through social events and community.

Two events are coming up -

  • Side Project Virtual on 29th January
  • Monthly Virtual Meeting on 11th February

Swift Cairo

This group is about learning and sharing iOS/Mac/Apple products development experiences. While there was a webinar two weeks ago, join the group to notify you about the next one!

CocoaHeads Berlin

The Berlin chapter of the CocoaHeads community meets monthly every 3rd Wednesday to talk about iOS and OS X development.

An event happened a week ago, but again, become a member and get notified about future events!

Conclusion

There are a lot of meetups related to iOS development happening all around the world. It is amazing how you can sit on your desk attend one meetup in Vancouver in the morning and one in Sydney in the evening.

While this list is not exhaustive, please tag me on Twitter to update the list!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll enjoy attending the meetups!
